March Pinterest

New Month means new themes, crafts and goodies! I am IN LOVE with Pinterest!  I don't know how teachers taught before it was invented.  There are so many fun seasonal ideas that I find on Pinterest that I use in my classroom.  Please follow my March Pinterest board to see all the goodies I've found all over the internet.  I hope you can use some of my finding's in your classroom too!  Be sure to follow because I add to the board all year long- and you might find some goodies for next year too!

Weekly Visual Schedule- Bulletin Board Set

Schedules Schedules Scheudles.  Yes- they are important.  and YES they are a headache.  I can't live with them, I cannot live without them.  It's kind of one of those love/hate relationships wouldn't you say?

Recess in a Wagon!

Do all of your kids go to the playground during recess?  Do all of them mainstream during recess without any problems?

Mine don't! RECESS IS A CHALLENGE!

Be together.  Not the Same

When I watched this I instantly thought about my students.  They are challenged every day in every way possible to "be the same" or "be normal" and most often "just blend in."  I fight for them to not feel pressured to be the same.  And I just love this commercial as it simply states

Be TOGETHER.  Not the SAME

Matching File Folder Tasks

Matching is SUCH an important skill for my lower group to master.  It takes a lot of practice to master matching.  I have found that some of my students will memorize file folders and know where pieces go without actually looking.  For others- it's about motivation!  Because of this- I created a bundled product of 22 matching file folders!

Presidents Day Craft and Writing

It's important to teach students the history behind the holidays we celebrate.  For us- we got TWO days off to celebrate President's day!  I introduced the the holiday with a social story to teach them.  We of course had to make some crafts!

President's Day Social Story

Many student's would argue that it's a day that we get to sleep in, hang out with friends and and enjoy NO school.  It's the reality of the situation and it's sad that our kids don't understand they importance behind such a special day.

Valentine's Crafts

Last week we started talking about Valentine's day! We watched a few video's, read a few books and read a social story.  The kids are loving this holiday and are having so much fun!  We made these adorable loving bears last week too!
